You're invited to gather on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 for a presentation on Program Management Professional Certification by Russ Elliot, Director of Wheeled Vehicle Platforms at Lockheed Martin Systems Integration-Owego.

The Program Management Professional (PgMP ®) is a new credential offered by PMI. Piloted by about 100 professionals worldwide during 2007, the credential became generally available last October. This presentation differentiates PgMP from PMP, outlines requirements that candidates must demonstrate and will address the application and assessment process. The meeting will be held at the Treadway Inn in Owego, NY.

This meeting will be a hosting by PMI Binghamton chapter.

Topic Summary:

Speaker:

Russ Elliot is Director of Wheeled Vehicle Platforms at Lockheed Martin Systems Integration-Owego. He has held increasingly complex program and engineering management assignments at IBM, Loral and Lockheed Martin over his 31 year career split almost evenly between Owego, NY and Portsmouth, England. A Certified Project Management Professional since 1993, Russ has held leadership responsibility for the internal program manager assessment process since 1996.

Russ was selected by Lockheed Martin and PMI to participate in the PgMP pilot during 2007 and is one of five Lockheed Martin program managers to receive the credential. He is presently leading a Lockheed Martin program manager assessment process improvement based on lessons learned in the PgMP pilot.

He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University in 1977 and his Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse University in 1979. In addition to completing IBM's Systems Research Institute in 1983, Russ completed two executive education programs at Harvard Business School in 2004 and 2006 respectively.
